ideas for the next rp :D!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok guys this season of our popular heavens duel academy role play has been abit screwy what with people not being on much and people having supernatural powers a few others and my self have been collaborating for new ideas for the next season of the role play and i must say there are pretty good if i say so my self...

any who onto the ideas....


1.) this idea is a collaboration between my self and other members of the academy the idea came from azaux so credit goes to him.... the idea would take p[lace in the gx era and would include cards released from the time yugioh started all the way up until the end of gx (also includes both the yugioh manga and the gx manga) there will be a custom ban list in play which will be based around a mixture of the latest sep 1st ban list and previous banlists from the gx era each deck can only be used by one person during the rp unless that person gives up the deck to some one else


(tell me what you guys think suggestions are welcome ideas will be posted as they are thought of)

Let me tell you why. I Find myself rather a syncro person. I like the cards after the 5ds format. I like fast past decks but not OP decks. I am a twilight player and I am trying other decks. However there were no good decks at that time. And if there were, they were rather slow. I may be thinking a bit selfishly, but you cannot base time periods of yugioh based on the show/manga. If you want decks to be less OP, Go back a few formats ago.

but by coming up with a theme related idea this early in the format, you are not giving the new banlist a chance. There are so many archetypes that can now top because of this new banlist. A lot of decks have potential. However you have to let people discover that potential. With this Idea you are throwing away over 10000 ideas and only 100 remain.

However I have another idea to propose. It uses the concepts of the last RP where you have multiple boss monsters using cards that pose a challenge to the duelist. If this goes through, I will talk to the other RP mods about what the story is planned to be. But it involves summoning monsters to do quests. and such. And we would find a way to be a person that isn't me for once, be the boss monster.

I'm a 5ds person too but yea. i can't decide whether to agree to this idea or not.

I just edited something in. it's another idea to propose.

the reason the idea for this came up was because it was supposed to be slow what fun is a duel when its over with in a turn or two i was also planning on doing the same thing with 5ds after the gx one and if i wanted it to be lame and slow i would have gone to the original yugioh b4 gx and everything and also countless people including my self have complained about the banned cards not many people were able to beat the "boss monsters and also look at what the rp is now there is no dueling going on it is people just walking around doing nothing which is why this season will be coming to an end soon whether or not it continues will be decided at a later point...

Yes it's selfish, but you are throwing decks away. Duels did not end in 1 to 2 turns. There were at a medium pace. Give the format a chance for a season by it's self. Then start adding in concepts. And if you want to give me shit that there are decks you can run, give me a list of what decks, that were in that series, that are consitant (however it's spelled), and that I would want to play without having the feel of "I want to kill myself because I hate this deck so much."

oh hagi shush i think its an awsome idea because not only will it be fun but it will test your knowledge with deck building, the gx era was a good fun era and i personally think alot of people will enjoy the role play because at least in gx their were no OP OMG FML LOLOLOLOLOL TROLL plays and with a custom ban list it will stop some of the older loops, but i think if your making a specific deck you need to stick to that archetype no random as shit cards that make little to no sense as to why its in and thats why i feel if your making a custom ban list you should consult an admin so he or she can give their expert opinion on what should be hit and what shouldnt

@Pez, Okay pez, You wanna give me a list of 15-20 decks that are actually consistent, and don't want to make me want to say "I would rather kill myself then play this game". If I can agree with you apon the list then I'll stop bitching, but if you are talking about an RP for yugioh, then when you duel you want to have some fun, and the GX era is going to be cutting out that fun.

I agree with Hagi, including synchros will make this a better experience...

No hagii I know its not set in stone obviously if it was i wouldn't have asked for others opinions and alsowhen have we ever had. 15-20 members actually participate in the rp synchros. Wont be added into this idea because it is gx era

Well if you want duels to last longer while having Hagi's idea is really simple right? Just increase the lifepoints used in a duel, duh. It seems weird but it IS going to make duels longer.

I also like synchros as well and I don't see them really being broken to be honest.
Also, I really think you shouldn't use ANY of the anime eras and just make up your own flippin' era with your custom banlist.

Amen. Making LP Larger to something larger of 10000 will decrease your chance of otks due to the fact most otks go into the 8000-10000 range. A good number would be 160000 for both regular duels and tag duels.

Also agree with you on the fact that you can't use Anime Eras. Instead, Go ape shit and nuts on the Eras. Use creativity. Don't steal a work that wasn't yours.

Truly Hagi and Nazo... You both are missing the point of the GX era role play...

How about this if any one knows how tomake a voting system on a thread make one and use the information i stateted in the beginning along with hagiis full banned card idea well giveit a week if it gets more votes for the gx then we will do the gx era if it doesnt then those who voted and who ever has collaborated with the role play idea i will host a side role play event for it
